Root 2 Rise instills a sense of purpose and responsibility in our Tutor-Mentors that shifts their focus from negative influences to the positive contributions they can make within the school community.  They learn valuable skills such as communication, patience, and empathy. These enhance their personal development and provide them with tools to navigate life challenges.

Placing disengaged students in leadership roles within elementary schools fosters a supportive community environment. The connections they form with younger students and educators contribute to a sense of belonging, diminishing the isolation that often leads to negative behaviors, including involvement in gangs. Feeling connected to a positive cause and actively contributing to the well-being of younger students can redirect their focus away from destructive paths.
